It is with great sadness that I report the passing of our good friend and fellow Rotarian Butch Robinson. Butch joined our Club on February 1st 2007. He served the Bega Valley Community as a Rotarian for over 15 years and became a Paul Harris Fellow in 2009.
Butch stored the BBQ trailer at his property in Frog’s Hollow along with a lot of other Rotary gear. Everywhere the trailer went, Butch went too. Whether it was a clearing sale, a medical students' welcome or RYDA, Butch was always there. In no uncertain ways he made sure the BBQ was set up properly.
Whatever Butch was asked to help with his response was “that’ll be right”. It's no wonder he received a Bega Valley Shire  Community Service Medallion.
I don’t think Butch ever missed a Book Fair and I’m not sure how many trailer loads of reject books he disposed of. Our Book Fair this year wasn't the same without Butch.
Butch was also a member of the Candelo Probus Club and the Candelo “Meet a Mate” organisation. His practical approach to life and his great story-telling endeared him to people far and wide.
Every Wednesday night Butch had dinner with a group of friends at the Wolumla Hotel. It was fitting that his final night there was with his friends in the place he loved.
Butch, you were a special man, a great character, a dedicated husband and a loving father.
Rest in Peace.
Phil McDonald  President of the Rotary Club of Bega.
