The annual Bega Rotary Changeover dinner was enjoyed by around 40 members and friends as well as Mayor Russell Fitzpatrick and members of Merimbula and Pambula Rotary Clubs. The evening is a celebration of all that’s been achieved in the previous 12 months and a welcome to the President for the upcoming year, Phil McDonald, and Board members.
Anne Ducray gave the address  and spoke about this year's theme for Rotary International - ‘Create Hope in the World”.
Ed Chenery spoke about the Rotary Foundation which is Rotary’s Philanthropic arm.  End Polio is their best known project but many others have transformed the lives of people around the world.
Several presentations were made:
  • Dirk Kruit – Honorary Life Member of Bega Rotary
  • Rotary Service Certificates for years dedicated to Rotary: Charlie Blomfield 30 years, Paul Windle 60 years, John Mckee 50 years (and Phil himself has been in Rotary for 30 years)
Four Paul Harris Fellows were recognised:
  • Margaret Taylor for her untiring support for the club
  • Eric Johnson for his dedication to RYDA and club service
  • John and Marilyn Hamilton for their dedication to many projects including the Bookfair, Art Fair and bush fire projects.
  • Phil thanked those retiring from the club and presented Dorothea with a beautiful bunch of flowers for her service to Bega Rotary.
The Bega Rotary Annual Report is an interesting read and shows how much has been done in the last year.
Many thanks to Peanut Eatery and all those who support Bega Rotary.
